Underwood’s long history of success is directly related to its teachers and the instructional opportunities they provide to children year after year. By preserving our instructional programming and maintaining the staff needed to deliver that program, we ensure that Underwood can continue to positively touch children’s lives for generations to come.
The Foundation and PTA will both support the school but in different ways. The PTA provides supplies (computers, iPads, Smart Boards, etc.) and support. Unlike PTA funds, money raised by the Foundation can be used to pay for teachers and staff. As our school faces budget cuts money raised by the Foundation can be used to make sure that we are able to maintain the current staffing levels. The Foundation will also focus on retaining and recruiting great teachers and expanding what is currently offered.
